Della Fortuna introduced Megan Nordman (listed as the Bergen County Math League Glen Rock chapter advisor) and said the school’s math team included about 20 students who competed across six contests this season. Nordman told the board that the league includes roughly 30 participating high schools in Bergen County and that about 600 students competed countywide.
The league’s format, as described at the meeting, consists of six contests with six questions each; teams are allowed to drop their lowest score, making a perfect season score 30 points after dropping the lowest contest. At the meeting, the advisers recognized senior Matthew Park for a group‑2 second‑place finish and senior Yeji Kim for placing second in the county with 28 points out of a possible 30 after the season’s scoring was tallied.
Advisers praised the students’ dedication, attendance at contests and progress across the season; they also noted the team’s work with the advisor and school staff to support extracurricular opportunities. The presentation was a recognition item on the agenda and required no board action.
