Board approves school board election resolution, Holy Family wrestling co-op, LTFM items and $5 athletic fee increase

The board approved a resolution calling the school board district re-election by roll call, a cooperative wrestling sponsorship with Holy Family School, long-term facility maintenance (LTFM) participation in Intermediate District 287, LTFM expenditure projections and statement of assurances, and an increase in athletic registration fees of $5. Chair moved approval of action item 7a, “approval of the resolution relating to the election of school board members and calling the school board district reelection.” A roll call was conducted by alphabetical order and the board recorded yes votes from Brian, Lauren, Ralph, Heidi and Dave; the motion carried. The board then approved action item 7b, a cooperative sponsorship in wrestling with Holy Family School. Trustees asked whether the co-op was driven by participant numbers; a board member and district staff said it would help fill weights and strengthen the program. The motion carried on a voice vote. The board approved action item 7c, authorizing long-term facility maintenance revenue in Intermediate District 287, and action item 7d, approving LTFM expenditure projections and the required statement of assurances. Both passed on voice votes. The board also approved action item 7e to increase athletic registration fees by $5; the board noted the fee change is modest and intended to help cover rising program expenses. All the approvals were moved and seconded at the meeting and carried; minutes record voice votes for several of the items and a roll-call for the election resolution. No board member requested these items be tabled for further study during this meeting.
