The Navasota City Council on July 14 approved increasing annual support to the Grimes Health Resource Center to $8,500 for the 2025–26 fiscal year, up from $8,000. Laura, the center’s director, presented the center’s activity report, saying the organization had 1,393 unduplicated client encounters and that 83 percent of clients are Navasota residents. The report included counts of services delivered so far in the year: clothing assistance to 164 individuals/families, distribution of fresh produce to 231 households, 5,342 senior meals delivered to date and transportation assistance for 523 people to 922 locations. The center requested the modest increase to $8,500 to help meet rising costs. Council moved and approved the funding increase; staff and council members thanked the organization and volunteers for their work in the community.
