Clinic schedules "Fall Vaccine Bash" and reports clean state inspection; lead testing and infectious-disease tracking ongoing

Vigo County clinic staff announced a Fall Vaccine Bash scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, and reported the clinic passed its annual Indiana Department of Health inspection with no compliance issues. Robin, clinic staff, provided the update and described partnerships and planned activities for the vaccine fair. The clinic will operate the health fair and vaccine clinic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and plans to coordinate with Vigo County School Corporation. Planned attractions include face painting, fire-safety demonstrations by the Terre Haute Fire Department and local vendors; staff said the goal is to reach families and increase vaccination uptake. Clinic staff and their lead case manager conducted lead and hemoglobin testing at Head Start on April 22, testing about 20 children and schedule a return visit Sept. 20. Robin said nurses manage infectious disease cases and that the clinic recently processed three histoplasmosis cases; one case was associated with pond exposures. She also offered to add board members to a weekly infectious-disease case-count bulletin used by the department.
