The McCutcheon School Corporation Board received information Tuesday about proposed updates to the district’s acceptable use policy and its harassment policy to address artificial intelligence and manipulated imagery.
District technology staff presented an updated acceptable use policy that highlights changes related to AI‑generated content, including deepfakes and misrepresentations. The presentation said state law will require districts to address these issues and that the district is “getting an early jump” to prevent misuse.
Doctor Riddle presented the harassment policy (first reading) and said the policy now includes a definition for manipulated imagery created with AI editing tools where such images could contribute to a hostile environment. Riddle said staff want board feedback and will bring both policies back for formal approval at next month’s meeting.
