Commission renews license for House of Hope community garden; resolution passes unanimously

The City of Stuart commission unanimously approved Resolution No. 59-2025 renewing the city’s license agreement with House of Hope to operate a community garden on city property at 520 Southeast Florida Street.
Baggett introduced the item as a three-year renewal of an existing license that requires House of Hope to provide insurance and to indemnify the city. Rob Ranieri, CEO of House of Hope, told the commission the organization will continue youth-oriented events such as seed-planting days and birdhouse-building days and said produce grown there is shared with East Stuart residents.
The motion to approve Resolution 59-2025 was made by Vice Mayor Collins and seconded by Commissioner Clark. Roll-call votes recorded Commissioner Giobi, Commissioner Reed, Commissioner Clark, Vice Mayor Collins and Mayor Rich as voting yes. The resolution authorizes the city manager to execute License Agreement Renewal No. 3 and continues the partnership for another three years.
Commissioners and staff thanked House of Hope and city public-works staff for maintaining the garden.
