County approves three‑month extension and funding from Pennsylvania Department of Aging

The Center County Board of Commissioners approved an addendum to the county’s collective block grant agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Aging that extends funding and the contract period by three months.
Quentin (Aging department) told the board the addendum provides $401,430 and extends the agreement from July 1 to Sept. 30, 2025, while the state completes a new contract. Quentin said the Department of Aging is revising language in the next agreement and requested the short extension as a formality while the state finalizes terms.
Commissioners asked whether the extension was contingent on a state budget; staff said the extension is separate from the state budget process and the Department of Aging indicated the funds will be available for the three months covered by the addendum. The motion to approve the contract addendum was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The addendum maintains existing service funding for the county’s aging programs through Sept. 30, 2025; commissioners thanked staff for securing the continuation while the state completes its contracting process.
