Committee discussion explained an MDT is a mobile data terminal — the in-cruiser computer that lets officers access law enforcement databases, run license-plate checks and complete reports. Committees moved the smaller grant appropriation request forward and referred the larger appropriation to finance for consideration. The full council later adopted the appropriation ordinance for $70,810.84 by roll-call vote at the legislative meeting.
