Council, staff move to clarify mobile-vendor licensing; farmers market organizers anticipate more vendors

City staff and councilors on July 14 discussed efforts to update licensing requirements for mobile and temporary vendors to remove confusion and streamline permitting for farmers markets and mobile sellers.
Public works staff reported they had been updating license requirements and would bring the changes to the public works committee for review. Councilor Hancock and others said organizers of the farmers market had voiced confusion about licensing requirements and welcomed clearer rules. "I do wanna commend our public works professionals for their work on updating the, license requirements for our mobile and temporary vendors. I think that will help eliminate a lot of confusion as we move forward," Councilor Hancock said.
