DEIC discusses chair nominations and pending appointments; vote set for July

Staff reiterated the process: nominations may be made at the meeting and carried forward, but the formal vote will take place in July to permit new appointees to participate. Commissioners emphasized the need to balance workload and asked nominees to consider the time commitment required to chair the commission.
No formal action was taken at this meeting. Staff will place the nomination and election item on the July agenda and will notify the commission once the council has acted on the interview committee’s recommendations.
