The chair said the mall in Stonecrest is "still over 90% occupied," that SeaQuest had completed renovations and was preparing to reopen, and that Craig Donaldson, who is part of the mall ownership, attended the conference with the authority.
The chair listed recent outreach events and presentations where the authority promoted local development, including the Council for Quality Growth, planned engagement with DeKalb Realtors, and a recent Rotary Club presentation. The chair also said the authority maintains contact with an industry consultant identified as Christian, who provides leads and market connections.
No hiring decisions were announced at the June 25 meeting, and the authority did not provide a timeline for when a director would be selected. Board members said service delivery and economic-development outreach would continue while recruitment proceeds.
The meeting record shows no public comments submitted and no formal votes tied to the recruitment effort; the board approved past meeting minutes and then moved into an executive session on real estate matters.
