"They were drag racing in the parking lot of Barrington Park, and it wasn't locked at all," Graves said.
Council members asked for clarity on who is responsible for locking parks and for the duties of the city's new "ambassador" role mentioned in staff conversations. The deputy city manager was asked to provide an update; staff present said they would follow up and copy council members on communications.
Council members also asked for an update on a year-round youth/summer program that had been discussed at prior meetings; staff said a written update would be requested from recreation and the deputy city manager. No formal action or new public-safety ordinance was taken at the meeting.
