Council asks staff to follow up with GDOT on I-20 bridge lights and nearby statewide resurfacing work

"They held a preconstruction meeting with the contractor on 06/16/2025, and they have 30 days from the notice to proceed to start the work," staff member Harry said, citing a July 16 potential start date for one project.
Committee members asked staff to obtain direct contact information for the GDOT representative who attended the town hall so the city can seek updates before the committee's next quarterly meeting. The committee also discussed the Carington/Miller/Panola/Barrington corridor resurfacing schedules and potential effects on residents reporting potholes; staff said plans show work advancing with mid-September completion estimates for some segments.
