The Show Low City Council unanimously adopted Resolution R2025-30 to approve the City of Show Low Housing Needs Assessment and Action Plan, a product of a $100,000 State Housing Trust Fund grant and consulting work by Matrix Design Group.
City staff explained the plan’s recommended actions at the meeting, which include building on workforce housing incentives adopted in February, supporting senior housing, diversifying the local housing stock, preserving existing affordable housing, inventorying suitable properties for affordable development, establishing a registration program for short-term rental revenues to fund housing, and pursuing state and federal grants. Staff said available grant funds were also used to begin an inventory of suitable properties.
City official John North (staff) told the council adoption of the assessment “is a requirement of the grant and will provide us with access to future grant opportunities.” Councilmember Adams moved to adopt the resolution; the motion carried unanimously.
The adoption fulfills the stated grant requirement and positions the city to pursue additional grant funding and to implement the specific action items in the plan. No budget appropriation above previously awarded grant funds was recorded during the vote.
