The Roads and Railway Committee met July 15 and completed its scheduled reorganization, electing a new committee chair and arranging training for members who will operate hybrid meeting equipment.
The committee elected Craig as chair by roll-call vote after nominations were closed; a roll call produced unanimous affirmative responses. Committee members discussed officer slots including vice chair and secretary and agreed to continue filling positions at the next meeting if needed.
Committee members and staff emphasized the need for operational continuity for hybrid meetings. Charles Evans, identified in the meeting as the MCTV station manager, told the committee he will train town staff and offered to run a training session before the August meeting. Tracy, the town staff member present, said staff will be involved in launching meetings when available; Evans said he will provide a brief training session and a "cheat sheet" for a volunteer member to operate room equipment when staff are absent.
Members agreed to circulate draft minutes and to provide a short checklist to new officers. Bill Greeter had previously circulated the meeting calendar and agenda; members noted posting and agenda-distribution issues with the town website and cloud storage that staff will follow up on.
No other formal motions beyond the officer election were recorded for this agenda item. Committee members said they will finalize officer roles, circulate minutes, and make the August agenda available in advance.
The meeting concluded with the chair announcing a draft agenda for the August meeting would be distributed for additions and that staff would post the final agenda and meeting materials as usual.
