Allegany County approved selling approximately 0.6 acres of county right-of-way along State Routes 19 and 305 in the town of Belfast to Gladys J. Schneider for $1,000 plus purchaser-paid transfer expenses, relying on a prior resolution that transferred maintenance jurisdiction from NYSDOT to the county.
The Allegany County Department of Public Works requested—and the board approved—a resolution authorizing the conveyance of the county's interest in approximately 0.6 acres of right-of-way along State Routes 19 and 305 in the town of Belfast to Gladys J. Schneider by quitclaim deed for $1,000 plus the purchaser's payment of transfer expenses, including any required surveys or appraisals.
Tom Windus told the board the chairman would be authorized to execute all property transfer documents subject to review and approval by the county attorney. Windus said the county previously accepted maintenance jurisdiction for this property from the New York State Department of Transportation pursuant to resolution number 18125, which allows the county to sell the land to the prospective buyer.
The board voted in favor of the conveyance by voice vote.
The purchaser is responsible for transfer costs and for paying for any required surveys or appraisals. The county did not provide a closing date at the meeting; Windus said the transaction documents will be prepared and reviewed by the county attorney prior to execution.
