Board approves several pay-schedule and supplemental-pay changes

The school board approved an amendment to the non‑certified pay schedule, a state-required differentiated pay plan, and a supplemental pay schedule for extracurricular coaches during the meeting. District staff presented the changes as necessary updates, including items the board had discussed at a previous work session and a districtwide athletics stipend structure. The board voted on each item by roll call and the motions carried. The supplemental pay item eliminated several high-school weightlifting supplements but retained one position for Jim Bartkoff, the staff said. The board noted coaches Jason Pack and Mark Martin will head strength and conditioning under the new structure. The differentiated pay plan was described by a board member as required by the state; staff confirmed the plan aligns with state requirements for differentiated compensation. Votes were recorded by roll call. Board members including Doctor Nancy Williamson, Doctor Danny Cross, Dorothy Watson, Mark Matthews and Kevin Byrd voted in favor of the motions; the motions carried. Staff said the changes mirror discussions from a prior work session and will be implemented for the coming school year.
