The Board of Public Works and Safety on July 16 approved a resolution appointing Greg Collins as a special police officer for the Carmel Police Department to serve as a facility security specialist.
Chief Drake Sterling introduced Collins and said Collins retired in 2022 after 27 years of service, retired as a detective sergeant from the Noblesville Police Department and had more than a decade of experience with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. "He's been a friend and partner of the Carmel Police Department for quite some time," Sterling said.
The board adopted resolution BPW07-16-25-02 to appoint Collins; the chair administered the oath on the record following the vote. Collins will serve in a facility security role under department oversight.
