The Kane County Development Committee approved a draft five‑year Housing and Community Development consolidated plan and related amendments required by HUD, and approved projects to use Emergency Rental Assistance Program 2 (ERAP2) funds for affordable rental housing.
Staff noted a tight federal timetable: HUD requires the consolidated plan submission by mid‑August and the county must finalize public‑review drafts and board adoption to access federal allocations. Planning staff introduced new team members assisting with CDBG/HOME and the consolidated plan process.

Staff said the consolidated plan and annual action plan will be forwarded to the county board for adoption, and that more detailed budget and project descriptions will be finalized in upcoming weeks.
