Mayor Milovich Walters said, “in a little over a week, Ares was able to lower the water main on 1 side of the street already, allowing us to move to the other side of the street near Elm now.” The mayor added that once the village work is finished, IDOT will build wing walls and related structures to support the box culvert.
Commissioner Patan moved to approve invoice number one for the Ares Construction relocation project in the amount stated on the invoice; a colleague seconded the motion. A roll call vote followed with all members voting yes.
Public works noted the village’s portion will be finished after Ares lowers the water main on the remaining side of the street; no additional schedule or final completion date was provided in the meeting record.
