The Government Operations & Regulations Committee voted to defer consideration for one meeting of an ordinance that would amend multiple chapters of the Metropolitan Code to allow the Metropolitan Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure to increase permit administrative fees over time.
The ordinance (BL 20 25 9 0 6) was introduced on the agenda as an amendment to certain chapters and subsections of the Metropolitan Code (listed on the agenda as chapters 2.62, 12.56, 13.02, 13.08, 13.2, and 13.32). A councilmember raised procedural and substantive concerns and said they had sent suggested amendments to Margaret Darby for staff review: “Well, I think it got deferred in budget finance, and I was gonna defer it in here too because I got some problems with it. I sent them to Margaret Darby, hopefully, to get an amendment.” A motion to defer consideration by one meeting was made, seconded and approved by recorded voice: “All in favor, say aye. Aye.” The chair recorded the committee vote as 6-0 in favor of deferral.
No substantive changes to the ordinance text were adopted at this meeting; members indicated they expected to consider an amendment before the item returns to committee. The transcript does not include the proposed amendment language or any fiscal estimates tied to the fee increases.
