District administrators told trustees the district's summer offerings drew steady participation and included new program changes intended to improve learning and student experience. Assistant superintendent Anna Marie Covey and Dr. Demerai (presenters) said the elementary summer program shifted to three days per week across the summer rather than a single four-week block; 106 students signed up with about 83 attending regularly. The elementary program is held at Monroe and partners with the city rec center so students can participate in GRASP programming; nutrition services provided breakfast and lunch. Middle school summer sessions, held alongside high school offerings at the high school, had about 20 regular attendees, up from six the previous year. Middle and high school staff emphasized math and language arts; trustees were told 75 semester classes were completed by high school students via credit recovery (equivalent to 37.5 credits). For the first time the district offered an in-person Wyoming history credit recovery class with field trips. The ESY (Extended School Year) special education program continues through summer and serves about 65 students receiving special education services. The district also reported 28 students signed up for an English Learner jump-start program at Monroe prior to fall professional development. Staff said the programs aim to limit summer learning loss and provide targeted remediation and enrichment. There were no formal board votes on the program updates; trustees thanked staff for the work and outcomes.
