The LaSalle County Nursing Home NVAC committee agreed July 14 to advance a patio-addition project to the public bidding process and to forward the project to the full board for final approval. Committee members said the architects documents were complete and staff wanted confirmation before including the project in next years budget. Kathy Bridal told the committee the architect had prepared drawings and specifications and that Mark and Pat had reviewed the documents. "I just need approval from the nursing-home committee and from the full board before anything can get started," she said. The committee agreed to proceed with a public bid solicitation. Committee members discussed the project estimate during the meeting. At one point staff referenced a total estimated cost of $225,000 for the patio project and said the figure had been included in preliminary budgets; later in the meeting a committee member cited $255,000 when summarizing the bid decision. Committee members asked staff to re-circulate the architects packet and supporting cost breakdowns for review before full-board approval and final budget submission. The committee approved a motion to proceed with public bidding and to forward the project to the full board for final authorization. Staff said the county will manage the bidding process and that the architect would assist with engineer reviews and bid documents.
