Assessor to retire Aug. 8; office uploads 2025 assessment work, staff transition underway

The county’s supervisor of assessments told the committee this is her last meeting before retirement on Aug. 8 and said she has uploaded assessor work for the 2025 tax year. She told the committee that "assessors remain to fall short of getting their townships equitable into the required 33 and a third of market value that that was required by law," and urged ongoing attention from the board and assessors to achieve equalization.
She said interviews are under way for a Clerk 3 position to help the office complete roll processes and that staff remains busy to complete required work before the statutory deadlines. She thanked committee members for their support over her tenure and noted she is leaving what she described as "a very competent and committed staff." Committee members moved to approve the assessor’s bills and placed the assessor’s report on file.
