The LaSalle County Nursing Home NVAC committee voted July 14 to forward revised medical-director contract language to the full board for final approval. Committee members said the agreement contains material changes from the facilitys prior arrangement and that full-board review is required because it affects provider responsibilities and costs. Kathy Bridal, committee chairman, told the group the contract had been revised and was awaiting approval so work could begin. Don, a staff member who reviewed the draft, said one of the "biggest issues was liability insurance, and they will be covering that." Mark, a committee advisor, urged caution: "I would hold off until you receive full board approval, not just your committee approval," he said, citing the size of the proposed change. Committee members made a motion to forward the revised medical-director agreement to the full board; Bill Brown moved the motion and Nancy seconded. The motion passed on a committee vote and the item will appear on the next full-board agenda for final action. The committee did not adopt the contract; members said they wanted to preserve the committees ability to amend the start date and confirm final terms at the full-board stage. Committee members also discussed logistics, including the contract start date and the 90-day notice provision cited in the draft. Staff said once the committee provides positive confirmation they will issue required notices and finalize timing with the provider. The committee flagged no statutory citations during discussion; staff said the agreement is a standard contract amendment requiring board-level approval because of changed terms and financial impact.
