Rainsley Planning Board re-elects leadership, affirms meeting schedule and procedures

The Rainsley Planning Board held its annual organizational meeting June 25 and completed elections and procedural housekeeping before opening its regular meeting. Chair (unnamed) called the session to order at 6 p.m. and the board conducted nominations and voice votes to confirm leadership and procedures.

The board nominated and approved its chair in a voice vote after a motion and a second. During the same sequence, a board member nominated Noel Dubier for vice chairman; that nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote. The board also discussed scheduling and procedural rules, with a motion to continue the board's current practice of meeting twice a month and to hold meetings at 6:00 p.m. The board moved and seconded that schedule and adopted it by voice vote.

Board members made and seconded a motion to continue following Robert's Rules of Order and the planning board's existing rules and procedures; that motion passed on a voice vote. Members also confirmed they have signed town policies including the code of ethics, harassment policy and media policy and noted that planning board training is available. A motion accepting those acknowledgments was made, seconded and carried. After completing organizational business, the board adjourned the organizational session and opened the regular meeting at 6:03 p.m.

The board announced its next regular meeting for July 23, with a site-visit scheduling time discussed in subsequent business. No recorded roll-call tallies were given during the organizational votes; all measures were approved by voice vote with "all in favor" noted on the record.
