The board also approved vendor licenses tied to the Blueberry Festival and individual vendors including a vendor license for Richard McMahon to operate a gourmet mini-donut stand.
Event applicant Janet Cooper told the board she had completed the application, secured insurance and consulted with the police chief and town staff; she said the event has grown over 20 years and she wanted to be transparent. Police and fire department sign-offs were recorded on the permit forms in the meeting packet. The board’s motion to approve the Day event included the condition that parking arrangements be confirmed with the parks commission prior to the event.
Board members asked how vendors will be notified if vendor fees are revised following an upcoming fee review; staff responded that vendors for events this season will be governed by the current fee schedule and that any fee changes discussed at a future meeting would not retroactively affect already-approved events scheduled under the existing fees.
