Commission continues conditional‑use review for contractor operation pending Board mining decision

Senior Planner Cody Zach reported that the county board of commissioners had continued a related mining permit to its Aug. 5 meeting; staff recommended continuing the contractor conditional use permit until after that determination so the planning commission could consider the conditional use in the proper context. "Staff is gonna recommend to continue this conditional use permit to the 08/11/2025 planning commission meeting," Zach said.
Commissioners moved and seconded the continuance and it passed on a voice vote. The item will return after the board’s action on the mining permit so the planning commission can review any findings or conditions from the county board.
Why it matters: The applicant’s contractor use is connected to a separate mining permit matter before the Board of Commissioners; staff said it was appropriate to await the board’s decision before proceeding on the conditional use review.
