Applicant Robert Raider told the board the business will be largely ag‑oriented: “It’s going to be for him, and his brother will probably work there eventually,” and said he expects mostly farm customers and deliveries only occasionally. County staff and TRC required a drainage plan because the building exceeds 4,000 square feet; the board included drainage approval in its motion.
Motion and vote: A motion to approve the special use for a 6,720‑square‑foot home workshop with a 4x4 sign, a limit of three employees, and drainage plan approval was made by Don (board member) and seconded by Letter (board member). Roll call recorded unanimous approval. The motion carried.
Conditions and next steps: The approval requires a drainage plan approved by TRC and the county surveyor, and the board clarified that exterior operations and storage will be restricted by the terms of the special‑use permit. Staff indicated the TRC will monitor for expansions beyond the approved scope and that any change would require further review.
