Superintendent Todd Bailey told the board on July 14 that the district signed a memorandum of understanding to participate as the fiscal conduit for a 22+ adult‑education high‑school completion program administered by a third party. Bailey said the district will receive funds and pass roughly 80% to the third party to provide instruction and administration while retaining about 20% for local administrative costs. He described the first‑year allocation as up to $50,000.
Bailey also reported that the district signed a new MOU with Great Oaks to continue or expand satellite career‑technical programs on campus, noting that some district students use Great Oaks and satellite offerings as alternatives when full‑campus seats are unavailable.
On summer food service, Bailey said the GrubBus program will end one week earlier than planned (last day July 24 rather than July 31) because three freezers failed and because usage this summer has been lower than last year. He said the program was run with donations and sponsorships and that the district will survey families to understand demand and explore options for future schedules or routes to maintain service without incurring unsustainable costs. "If you're feeding 150 kids a day, that's 150 kids that are getting it," Bailey said, noting the district will evaluate demand before making changes for next summer.
Bailey said the adult‑education program will be promoted to the community and that the district is not directly administering the instruction; participants who complete requirements would receive a Goshen diploma under the program’s terms. The Great Oaks satellite programs and new staff hires for those programs were presented as part of the superintendent’s and personnel sections of the meeting.
The board did not take separate votes on the GrubBus schedule change during the meeting; Bailey said operational decisions will be made to keep the program financially viable.
