Pension staff reported that Donna Rivera, identified as a Board of Education employee who terminated employment effective Nov. 23, 2022, was eligible for retirement effective June 1, 2025, and will receive $636.24 per month. The staff member said: “We have 2. We have Donna Rivera, board of ed employee. She terminated 11 23 of 22. She was eligible for retirement 6 1 of 25, 7 years of credit, and she will receive 636 dollars and 24 cents.”
The staff member also reported a vested monthly benefit for Don Smith. The transcript lists a termination date of June 30, 2025, and a normal retirement commencement date of Sept. 1, 2025, with a monthly vested benefit of $7,140.51. During the discussion a staff participant corrected the years-of-service figure from seven to 27 years. The committee approved both benefit actions by unanimous vote.
Separately, the committee approved paying a beneficiary for a deceased former employee. The staff member said parking-department supervisor Dave Stevens died April 10, 2025, and his beneficiary, Sandra, will receive $477.83; the committee recorded the approval as unanimous.
The committee chair called for a motion to approve the benefits and the motions passed without a roll-call vote recorded in the transcript.
