Bittman reported that a high percentage of students scored 3 or higher on AP exams — a threshold that commonly confers college credit — and described AP participation and pass rates as among the nation's leaders. He said 97 students received a bilingual certificate this year, 102 a “gold” bilingual designation and 73 a “platinum” designation (transcript terminology), and noted strong participation in world-language programs.
The superintendent also noted district rankings from national sources, early-literacy progress including 100% of pre-K–3 educators completing structured-literacy training, and awards for financial transparency, including recognition from the National Association of School Business Officials. Bittman recognized extracurricular achievements such as the high school's robotics team winning a national competition and students earning college-sponsored book awards and scholarships.
Board members and the chair thanked staff across roles — bus drivers, administrators, teachers, volunteers — for contributions to the district's results. Bittman closed by saying the district is “well positioned” to continue work toward strategic plan goals.
