The Henry County Board of Commissioners on July 15 approved the purchase and installation of prefabricated concession/restroom facilities from CXT Incorporated for Cochran Park and Warren Holder Park using SPLOST 6 funds.
Parks staff presented a proposal to buy and install a concession/restroom building at Cochran Park for $290,457.87 and at Warren Holder Park for $323,557.38, both using SPLOST 6 capital funding and referenced contract number 081721-CXT. Staff said the purchases follow voter-approved SPLOST 6 priorities to improve parks and that installations will replace older facilities and slabs where applicable.
Commissioners discussed design variations and thanked parks staff for providing improved amenity designs and enhanced aesthetics for community parks. Commissioner Robinson, whose district includes Cochran Park, said the work is “phase 2” of renovations and that the upgraded designs are an improvement over prior standard buildings. The board moved and approved each park item; the public transcript records motions and approvals with “Motion carries.”
Parks staff said the new prefabricated units are intended to deliver restrooms and concession functions with reduced construction time compared with full site-built buildings and will be installed using SPLOST 6 capital funds. The items were approved at the July 15 meeting.
