The town has an existing professional services agreement with KV Partners dating to 2008; staff said hourly consulting rates for similar municipal construction services typically range from $175 to $200 per hour, while the town's consultant rate for this provider is $105 per hour.
Board members spent additional time discussing the skewed intersection at Parker Street and Route 3, which several members described as dangerous and prone to near-misses. The engineering contract includes a review of intersection improvements and consultation with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation on potential widening or reorientation to improve sight lines.
The board authorized the contract without further amendments and directed staff to work with KB Partners on design options that might reduce crash risk and improve drainage.
