School board acknowledges complaint, finds no open-meeting violation

The Board of School Directors voted at a special meeting to acknowledge receipt of a complaint alleging an open-meetings violation and to inform the complainant that no violation occurred and no cure was needed. The vote followed a brief procedural discussion and a motion to acknowledge the complaint. The action resolves the complaint by notifying the complainant that the board found no open-meeting violation. Board member Garrett Giuliano moved to acknowledge receipt of the complaint and to inform the complainant that no violation occurred; Jackie seconded the motion. During the vocal vote the majority indicated “aye” and the motion carried. Board member Catherine Lisonbee cast the lone recorded dissent when she said she opposed the motion. The vote was presented as a formal disposition of the complaint; no further remedial steps were ordered. The board moved on to other agenda items after the vote.
