The Lewisville City Council ratified a set of agreements transferring assets from Sir Lewisville Inc. to the city and approving amendments to leases and programming agreements with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Tarrant County. Council voted 5-0 to ratify the city manager's prior execution of the documents.
The action follows notice from Sir Lewisville in May 2025 that it would cease operations June 30, 2025. Sir Lewisville had a 10-year forgivable loan from the city, which had been used to acquire and renovate property at 1001 S. Edmonds Lane. Rather than foreclose, Sir Lewisville requested to transfer its assets, including the property, to the city.
Council member Jennifer Meredith recused herself from the item before the vote. The city sought to preserve programming at the site, and staff recommended ratification of the bill of sale, assignment and assumption agreement and related lease amendments so operations tied to the Boys and Girls Club could continue. The council approved the ratification and the resolution adopting the amendments.
The resolution and agreements were executed by the city manager in advance of the meeting due to the time-sensitive nature of the transfer and were now before council for formal ratification.
