USD 453 board approves slate of officers, appointments and organizational resolutions for 2025–26

The board read a slate of recommended appointments: Beth Maddox for board clerk; Demron Montgomery for treasurer; principals and assistant principals as truancy officers; Beth Maddox as hearing officer for free and reduced meals and as child nutrition representative; Ryan Bodensteiner, Beth Maddox and Amy Sloan as federal and state grant representatives; Kathy Rettelberger as Section 504 representative; Jake Potter as Freedom of Information Officer; and a list of depository banks including Bank Midwest, Commerce Bank, Exchange National Bank, Mutual Savings Association, Country Club Bank, Citizens Federal Savings, Armed Forces Bank, Citizens National Bank and the State of Kansas Municipal Investment Pool. The Leavenworth Times was nominated as the official district newspaper.
Board member moved to approve all appointments and designations as presented; the motion passed 6—. Meeting materials also listed several organizational resolutions by number (for example, Resolutions 25/26-001 through 25/26-013) covering generally accepted accounting principles, activity funds and meeting dates and times. The board adopted the full set of organizational procedures and resolutions as listed.
