District introduces new HR director Dd Garcia; promotes Connie Bergman to lead student enrollment

Superintendent Dr. Robinson introduced Dd Garcia as the district—s new director of talent acquisition and employee engagement and invited her to address the board.
Dd Garcia told the board she previously lived in the community until last year and described a 22-year career in education, including work as a bilingual educator with Milwaukee Public Schools and as director of teaching and learning in the Waukesha School District for the past 13 years. Garcia said her specialty is recruiting for minority and multilingual candidates and filling hard-to-staff positions.
Dr. Robinson also announced that Connie Bergman was promoted to director of student enrollment in school services. The superintendent said Bergman—s functions will not change; the promotion is intended to highlight and emphasize enrollment and the family experience in the district. Bergman was not present at the July 14 meeting; the superintendent said she is on vacation.
No formal board action beyond the public recognition and staffing announcements was recorded at the meeting.
