Economic development staff gave an update on several initiatives, including coordination on utilities for a planned hub, ongoing housing committee meetings, and a revolving loan fund that currently has about $200,000 available to loan to small businesses. Brie Anne said she had reached out to utility contacts and planned to attend coordination meetings so utilities know what supplies to order for the hub. She said engineering feedback was pending from Structure Point and ASI, which has delayed final steps: "We've never got anything back from From ASI. Structure point either," she said. On housing, Brie Anne said the county has held two housing committee meetings and will meet again in August; the committee is identifying locations and infrastructure needs and is engaging potential developers and the land bank. On small-business support, she said the revolving loan fund has existed since 02/2009 and currently holds about $200,000 to loan to local small businesses; most prior loans have been paid off. No formal commission action was taken on these updates; commissioners asked staff to continue coordination and to keep them informed as engineering input and developer meetings progress.
