The presenter said the club is running a fully funded state-sponsored five-week summer learning lab with 120 enrolled children and an average daily attendance around 90 for that program. He said the club's total membership had crossed 700 and that the wrestling program enrolled more than 150 children this year. "That is the request, and we have asked for $20,000 toward that," he told the council, adding his plan to apply to other grant sources including the Pacers Foundation and to use a United Way capital-match program that would double qualifying contributions.
County members asked follow-up questions about matching grants and priorities; the presenter said the floor is the top priority and lighting upgrades would pay for themselves over time through reduced electric bills. No formal vote occurred; the funding request will be considered in the county's financial review and grant-matching decisions.
