County staff asked the Dearborn County Board of Commissioners to sign a consolidation plat that reconciles property descriptions at the Dearborn County Hospital (600 Wilson Creek) main campus so the consolidated parcel can be transferred to the hospital transition entity referenced in the meeting as Saini. The board voted to sign the plat and record it.
Staff explained the process was lengthy because parts of the property had inconsistent ownership and descriptions in county records and on GIS. The portion that houses an Encompass Healthcare apartment will remain under a lease with Encompass; staff said they will meet with Encompass CEO Greg Duncan and counsel to amend the lease description to match the consolidated plat.
The plat has been approved by the City of Lawrenceburg on their end, and staff reported they have contacted the hospital transition committee to obtain required signatures. Staff said there is an existing cross-parking easement and that Saini (the transition entity referenced in the meeting) will arrange a closing to formally transfer title; staff will obtain title insurance and complete deed transfers for additional satellite parcels (including parcel 368370 Bill B) that were missed in the initial hospital sale.
County staff also said they will prepare a resolution authorizing the commission president to attend the closing and execute documents on behalf of the commissioners; the resolution and any transition-committee authorizations are expected at a future meeting (the staff said likely the next meeting on Aug. 5).
The board approved the motion to sign the plat by voice vote. Specific closing dates, final deed language, and the exact legal name of the receiving entity were discussed in the meeting with variant spellings; staff said their attorney (Angie Gates) and transition-committee counsel are coordinating the final steps.
