McCracken County approves $564,927 in awards, equipment and payments for Paducah Sports Park projects

McCracken County fiscal court on July 14 approved multiple contracts and payments for the Paducah Sports Park, including awards to Turf Tank, Pivo Sports and Perfect Mound, and two invoice payments that the county will split with the City of Paducah under an existing interlocal cooperation agreement dated Sept. 7, 2022.
The court awarded Turf Tank the bid for an autonomous field painter at $87,700; staff said Turf Tank was the only bidder. A county staff member described the unit as a GPS-controlled, labor-saving machine that automatically paints temporary field lines to accommodate different age-group configurations for baseball, softball and soccer. The fiscal court agreed that ownership of the device will transfer to the Sports Tourism Commission, which will operate it.
Pivo Sports was awarded the bid for tip-and-roll bleachers at $130,000 after being selected as the lowest and most responsive bidder. The court also awarded Perfect Mound the contract for portable lanes and mounds at $246,227 as the lowest responsive bidder; staff said the portable pitching mounds allow different age-based pitching distances and can be removed for girls’ softball.
County staff and a commissioner clarified that many of these costs are split between the county and the Sports Tourism Commission or billed to specific programs: “Yeah. These are all split. We we purchase them and then we we bill our program for that,” a staff member said during discussion.
The fiscal court also approved payments tied to the sports complex project that are split under the interlocal cooperation agreement dated Sept. 7, 2022: a $27,881.65 invoice to PFGW and a $12,354.87 invoice to BFW; the city pays half of each invoice to the county per the agreement.
All awards and invoice payments were approved by the fiscal court during the July 14 meeting; court records show Turf Tank was selected as the only bidder for the field painter, while Pivo Sports and Perfect Mound were selected on a lowest-responsive-bidder basis.
