The board was told a second reading is scheduled for July 28, at which time the board may take final action.
On a separate motion the board approved the 2025–26 middle and high school handbook, which the district will make available only as an electronic document. Doctor Lambert presented the handbook and said it was submitted in the board packet.
Lambert emphasized training will be provided to employees whose duties include receiving, processing, depositing or dispersing school funds. The presentation emphasized the policy is a formalization of existing practice rather than the introduction of new procedures.
The first reading of Policy 6800 was informational; the handbook approval passed by voice vote.
