Council member Hollingsworth, chair of the Parks, Public Utilities and Technology Committee, said the amendment reflects extensive community engagement and allows Seattle Parks and Recreation to implement projects to enhance and activate park spaces in South Lake Union and downtown. The change updates a completed list of open-space investments adopted previously by ordinance 124286.
The committee recommended the amendment unanimously and the council voted 8-0 to pass the change. No public hearing was required at full council, and members said the revision is a routine funding-plan update intended to put previously planned projects into an executable funding plan.
