Board reviews strategic planning exercise and ALICE safety training partnership with police

Board members and administrators recapped strategic planning work the board completed in a recent Committee of the Whole session and described an exercise to identify key stakeholders and priorities for the district. Board President summarized the planning session and said the board's next step is to convert goals into action plans. Administrators thanked the board for its participation in the strategic-planning process and described an exercise led by Dina that helped identify stakeholders and priorities. Administrators also reported that on June 10 the Plymouth Police Department led ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) training for the district's administrative team. Scott, a staff member, praised Chief Ruggles and the police department for running simulations and said the department will present to full staff at the district's October professional development day. "They did a fantastic job," Scott said. There was no board action on the planning or training items; administrators described next steps to turn the planning dashboard into actionable goals and to schedule the police-led staff training in October.
