Verona swears in three new police department staff and recognizes new clerical hire

City officials said Bollig started with the department May 12 and brings five years of law enforcement experience, including service with the Wisconsin State Capitol Police and an Oregon police department; he was described as a Verona native. Brandon Hall began with Verona on May 19 with three years’ prior experience at the Portage Police Department and experience as a field training officer. Both officers were described as recipients of lifesaving awards in prior roles. Emily Miller started June 9 as a permanent part-time records clerk; officials said she works full time as a paralegal for the Wisconsin Department of Justice and has clerical experience.
The city clerk administered the oath of office for the officers and council members welcomed the new staff. The mayor and council thanked the police department for recruitment and recognized the new employees’ community ties.
