"This resolution ... appoint[s] your election officials for your August. You have a copy of the names of those individuals. They have been notified by mail as well as many of them have been called. And I've spoken with many of them who have agreed to work at your polls on August 26," Miss Chatham, a city staff member, told the council. The resolution sets pay at $175 for inspectors and $150 for other poll workers.
Miss Chatham said the slate of individuals had been notified by mail and some had also received phone calls; she told the council she had spoken with many who agreed to serve.
