The Rio Grande City Economic Development Corporation approved moving forward with a Peak.com booking platform and the related Stripe payment account for the Lehi C3 trolley tour. Staff explained Peak.com requires a Stripe account for payment processing and that Peak charges a 6% commission plus credit-card processing fees. Staff recommended passing transaction fees to customers, noting an example that a $10 ticket could yield roughly $0.94 to $1.23 in additional fees if passed through rather than absorbed. The board approved executing the vendor arrangement and directed staff to return with the associated bank-account paperwork at the next meeting. Board members asked staff to do a cost analysis of operating the trolley (driver, guide, fuel and other operating costs) to determine whether the $10 ticket price covers expenses or whether a higher per-ticket price or a different fee structure is appropriate. Staff said no formal study existed yet but committed to prepare an operating-cost analysis and to present the new checking-account setup for approval at a subsequent meeting.
