The City Council adopted a resolution on July 15 designating Community Consultants as the firm that will prepare the city's demolition-grant application and other federal grant applications the city may seek.
"This resolution will provide that Community Consultants will be the company that we will use to make the grant application for that demolition grant and all other federal type grants that we may be requesting in the near future," Miss Chambers, a city staff member, told the council during the meeting.
A council member moved to adopt the resolution and another council member seconded; the motion passed by voice vote. The council did not announce contract terms, a procurement process, a fee schedule or a timeline during the meeting record.
The resolution instructs staff to work with Community Consultants on the demolition grant application and other federal grant efforts. The transcript does not show whether the designation is a binding contract award, a sole-source authorization or a first step toward a formal procurement.
The council approved the resolution without recorded dissent.
