Superintendent Dan Linford introduced a group of newly placed administrative interns and district leaders, saying the district is following up its spring introductions with additional placements and training for the coming year.
Linford thanked school directors for preparing the new administrators and said the district will track training and provide “lead in Davis” training and coaching so interns and new leaders receive consistent onboarding. He described the work of the district’s teaching and learning team and training plans for high-reliability school systems and belonging work.
Several new administrators spoke on camera in a short introduction segment. Among those introduced were Catherine Cole (new principal at Kaysville Elementary), Katrina Berg (administrative intern, South Clearfield Elementary), Stephanie Burns (administrative intern, Adams Elementary), Kevin Campbell (administrative intern, Leighton Elementary), Mary Anne Farnsworth (administrative intern, Syracuse Elementary), Lisa Gill (administrative intern, Reading Elementary), Kat Jacobs (administrative intern, Nolan Elementary), Tamara Kumar (administrative intern, Farmington and Tohman elementaries), Mike Leishman (administrative intern, Centerville Elementary), Claudia Ramirez (administrative intern, BU Elementary), Shane Pearson (administrative intern, Ellison Park Elementary), Jen Shelton (administrative intern, Adelaide Elementary), Melanie Spears (administrative intern, Holt Elementary), Heather Straw (administrative intern, E. G. King Elementary), Mitch Hall (director of teaching and learning), and Jody Reese (literacy administrative coach).
Board members welcomed the new administrators and reiterated the district’s commitment to training and support for leaders. Linford and the board emphasized tracking professional development and ensuring new administrators are versed in district systems and leadership practices.
